Interesting timing with Monday's Arch Int Med article reporting on the Women's Health Initiative. The study provided convincing evidence that multivitamin use has little or no influence on the risk of common cancers, CVD, or total mortality in postmenopausal women.

The study's lead author, researcher Marian Neuhouser of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, offered this advice: "Get nutrients from food. Whole foods are better than dietary supplements," Neuhouser said. (as reported in Tuesday's Chicago Tribune)
